# Catch Up for Slack

Catch Up helps Slack teams catch up on unread channels without reading every message. Typical workflow: install the Catch Up app to your Slack workspace, run "@catchup configure" to set your default channels, summary period, and AI prompt, then mention "@catchup" wherever you need a summary. In a channel it summarizes recent messages, in a thread it summarizes the entire thread, and in a direct message with the bot it summarizes your configured channels. Add a number ("@catchup 3") to change the time window, add "public" to share the summary with everyone instead of only yourself, or add free-form instructions ("@catchup 3 focus on action items and deadlines") for a one-off custom prompt. Plans are billed per workspace per month in USD: $10 for 16 summaries, $15 for 32 summaries plus custom AI prompts and file summarization, and $25 for 128 summaries. Messages stay inside your Slack workspace and are only processed temporarily through the OpenAI API, which has a no-data-retention policy.
